Oakwood Inn Golf Course
If golf is part of your trip, the Thomas McBroom designed course at Oakwood Inn offers uncrowded, enjoyable recreational golf for golfers of all playing abilities. At less than 550 yards, the course is not punishing but yet still challenges even accomplished players to make proper club selections and accurate, strategic shots.
Golf at Oakwood GC is played across a landscape of gently rolling fairways, along treelined fairways and to small greens. Although relatively few in number, bunkers and ponds are located strategically about the course. Trees, however, are everywhere, oftentimes taking the driver out of play and forcing laying up - especially on the par-5s, some of which are reachable in two.
Driving off the elevated Oakwood Inn deck to begin each nine and no place for indecision or a tentative swing ! What it lacks in length, the course certainly makes up in character and in unique design.
A straight tee game and solid iron play are paramount to scoring well at the Oakwood Inn GC. In particular, the course's eight par-3s are very demanding of accuracy if not length. A well maintained and conditioned layout with several short par-3s, six par-5s, a couple very reachable par-4s, and very little rough, the Oakwood Inn GC is very player friendly and an ideal course for high handicappers, the ladies and juniors.
Oakwood Inn GC facilities include a putting / chipping green, practice bunker, golf shop, CPGA pro instructions, and practice range nearby.
